Overview
Bill Camp considers himself to be first and foremost a teacher educator. Camp`s specialty is Agricultural Science Education but he has spent his entire career working with wider audiences in the broad field of education. His specialty in Agricultural Science Education frames his research, teaching, and service activities.
Research Focus
Dr. Camp has two broad foci in his research. The first is a long-term interest in understanding how teachers progress in a developmental process throughout their careers. The second is a more recent attempt to contribute to the research base regarding the delivery and assessment of academically integrated programs of Agricultural Science Education.
Outreach and Extension Focus
Dr. Camp`s extension and outreach activities are generally focused on three objectives:
1. To position Cornell as the preeminent leader in the process of building a more responsive, academically rigorous secondary level program of Agricultural Science Education in New York State and nationally.
2. To reinvigorate the New York Agriculture Outreach and Education and Agriculture in the Classroom (NYAITC) programs.
3. To maintain the level of excellence already exhibited by the Agricultural Education Outreach (AEO) and LEAD New York programs.
