recognizes the doctoral student who has completed the most outstanding dissertation nationally in the field during the previous calendar year. Each institution that awards a doctoral degree in Agricultural Education, Extension Education, Agricultural Communications, or Agricultural Leadership is eligible to submit one outstanding dissertation nominee each year.

Jeannie Griffiths, MPS '05 has written a comprehensive guide, "Equine Science," aimed to educate youth and others about the care and ownership of horses. The work, published by Equine Network/Source Interlink Media, has been approved as a national reference book for Hippology and Horse Bowl at 4-H events. It covers topics from the origins of horses to equine genetics, nutrition, and anatomy and includes illustrations by Susan Harris, a famous equine artist.
